The Day of Coordinator

Making the choice to hire a day-of-coordinator for your wedding is a fairly new concept. In the south, everything is do it yourself and most of the time a planner isn't even necessary with mama and aunt Kay helping you out. A day-of-coordinator is very different from a planner though. As a day-of-consultant I'm going to list the reason why you need a day-of-coordinator.

Number 1:

Mama and Aunt Kay want to be present at the wedding, not scurrying around placing decorations on tables or even worse...mentally checked out through the "I do's." Giving someone that kind of responsibility can be exhausting, especially when they are trying to be a guest at the wedding as well. If you hire a day-of-coordinator, everyone gets to enjoy the wedding.

Number 2:

Most day-of-coordinators have plenty of weddings under their belt, so this isn't their first rodeo. We come prepared to coordinate, organize, smooth things over, decorate, and calm the storm. If something isn't right, we are fixing it before the bride ever even notices. We are also the boss of all of your vendors, so that way no one is bugging you throughout your big day, except maybe the ring bearer. (I've heard he's quite the ladies man!)

Number 3:

I've learned over the years that as a day-of-coordinator, it is our responsibility to check all of the contracts for the venues. So if a problem arises, we can smooth things over and pull out that contract if necessary. We are there to defend the bride from any harm, all while being behind the scenes.

Number 4:

Weddings always go so much smoother with someone delegating the flow of the wedding. We make sure the DJ is announcing everything he needs to announce, that way your guest can get to the fun part of the reception...the dancing! Along with the flow of the evening, we make sure there are pictures taken with every relative and friend. We are also there to cut the cake, get the champagne and most importantly set the mood for your guest.

Number 5:

This one is the most important one. We make sure to keep the brides mind at ease and focused on what your big day is truly about...love. Having all of your family and friends surrounding you is what is most important. If you hire a day-of-coordinator, then you are hiring someone that will make your wedding special and stress free.
